As many as 14,000 patients are getting medical care and diagnostic facility at 14 KMC hospitals whereas 120 people are getting free dialysis on a daily basis. This was informed at a meeting of the KMC Medical Department held in KMC head office under the chairmanship of the Mayor Wasim Akhtar. Latest corneal transplantation facility was also made available at the Spencer Eye Hospital. More facilities were being provided at midwifery schools and measures are also being taken to upgrade the nursing schools to college level.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Mayor Syed Arshad Hasan, Metropolitan Commissioner Dr Syed Saif-ur-Rehman, chairman finance committee Zahid Mehmood, chairperson medical committee Naheed Fatima, senior director medical services Dr Salma Kausar, senior director coordination Masood Alam, director finance Riaz Khatri, medical superintendents and accounts officers of KMC hospitals and other officers.
